'30 in 30' - Chicago Blackhawks

2008/09 Recap-
Record:
46-30-6, 98 pts.
Playoffs: Lost to DET in WCF (4-1)

Key Additions: Marian Hossa, John Madden, Tomas Kopecky
Key Subtractions: Martin Havlat, Nikolai Khabibulin, Samuel Pahlsson, Matt Walker

X-Factor: Brent Seabrook
Could be the best defenseman no one really knows about. He and Keith make for one of the best pairings in the league.
Breakout player: Andrew Ladd
Madden’s veteran presence will help Ladd in the long run. He had a solid postseason, and could score 20 goals for the first time.
Prospect to watch: Jack Skille
We’ve been hearing about this kid for the last couple years. If someone goes down with an injury, Skille could step in.
On the hot seat: Cristobal Huet
I’m beating on a drum here, but Huet is under a lot of pressure to lead Chicago to a deep playoff run.

Fantasy Corner-
Buy: Jonathan Toews
Sell: Marian Hossa
Sleeper: Jack Skille

Bold Prediction: Patrick Sharp will crack the 70-point plateau for the first time in his career.

Team Overview: Chicago could not stay out of the news this summer, from Dale Tallon’s contract fiasco with the RFA’s to the Marian Hossa signing to the Patrick Kane arrest. But once the season starts, it will be all business for the ‘Hawks. They’re looking to improve on last year’s success, and changed their look a bit to do so. They could very well be the most talented team (personnel wise) on offense and defense. With Cristobal Huet in net, though, all of their firepower probably won’t be enough to win 16 playoff games.

Current 09/10 Prediction-
2nd in Central Division
