Today, Matt Cooke added another controversial hit to his long line of incidents. He elbowed Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh in the head during the third period. On the play, Cooke received a five-minute major and game misconduct, which helped the Rangers win the game 5-2.
Cooke was suspended four games for his boarding penalty to Fedor Tyutin last month. Considering he is a repeat offender and there's more of a focus on hits to head following this past week's GM Meetings, you can bet he'll get at least a big suspension (I'd say at least 6-10 games) for today's hit.
