Players to watch:
BOS- Brad Marchand
The pint-sized sparkplug has been big for the B’s this month, racking up 13 points and a +13 rating.
TOR- Joffrey Lupul
Lupul’s breakout season has been overshadowed a bit by Phil Kessel. Lupul is currently on a six-game point streak.
Starting goaltenders:
BOS- Tim Thomas (2011-12 stats: 11-4-0, 1.86 GAA)
TOR- Jonas Gustavsson (2011-12 stats: 8-4-0, 3.06 GAA)
Injury report:
BOS- None
TOR- David Steckel and Carl Gunnarsson (hand, questionable), Mike Komisarek (arm, out), Matthew Lombardi (shoulder, out), James Reimer (concussion, out), Colby Armstrong (ankle, out), Mike Brown (lower body, out)
Game thoughts:
In the first two head-to-head meetings, the Bruins won by a cumulative score of 13-2. Though the Leafs are banged up, judging by those results, you know they will put forth their best effort against the red-hot Bruins tonight in the first half of a home-and-home between the two. If Gustavsson can make enough pressure saves, I think Toronto will be able to grab the two points and contain the Bruins.
Prediction: Maple Leafs 4, Bruins 2
The rest of today’s predictions:
Red Wings over Lightning
Avalanche over Devils
Wild over Oilers
Canadiens over Ducks
