Edmonton's Sam Gagner had a career night on Thursday (to put it lightly), tallying a whopping four goals and eight points in the Oilers' 8-4 win over Chicago. Gagner tied Hall of Famers Wayne Gretzky and Paul Coffey for the Oilers' single-game record for points. Pretty good company, wouldn't you say? Nobody has recorded eight points in a game in 23 years, and only Toronto's Darryl Sittler has recorded more in a single game (10).
Before the game, Gagner had 22 points; he now has 30. Gagner also went from 200th in the NHL in scoring to 110th in one night.
