Game thoughts:
The
series opener was definitely an enjoyable one, as the Flyers edged the Devils 4-3
in overtime to draw first blood. Danny
Briere, Mr. Postseason, scored twice including the game-winner. Meanwhile, the Flyers were able to knock off
their rust and manage to get the win.
In
tonight’s Game 2, you can expect New Jersey’s best effort. Zach Parise stepped up his game on Sunday,
while Ilya Kovalchuk’s performance can only get better. They have to be able to draw some confidence
despite the loss in Game 1. However, the
Flyers would like to build off Sunday’s win and take a stranglehold lead in the
series. I think they will – barely.
Prediction: Flyers
3, Devils 2
